Tonight I had my first thanksgiving dinner in America. Although I've been studying here for almost 4 years, I always spent thanksgiving night with my friends outside; therefore instead of traditional thanksgiving dinner, I have always eaten at restaurants. This year, however...

This year, however, thanks to ISI, I had the opportunity to truely experience this important holiday in the United States.  At the church venue, where the event was held, I saw lots of my friends. We talked, laughed, and ATE! The food was so good! We had turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed/sweet potato, sweet corn, apple/pumpkin pie.....I ate so much but this is one of the thanksgiving traditions--overeat.  After dinner, we had three speakers for the evening. I learned a lot about the origin and meaning of this holiday. Besides, like the speaker said, we need to be thankful for everything. This has been a great night. Although thanksgiving is 5 days from now, I can already sense warm and happy atmosphere.
