The international friendship night on April 4th was great. There were so many kinds of different food and dessert and they were all delicious. During the dinner, I got to meet people from diverse countries, including French, China and Indonesia, which was an amazing experience because I like meeting people from different parts of the world. After dinner, I heard a story about how God can deliver His message through people you don't even know and how this message changes a person's entire life. I was so glad to hear this inspiring story. International friendship night is always a good event to meet new friends and hear interesting stories. |

Is there a better way to spend a rainy Saturday night than by getting together with global friends? The overwhelming showing-up-rate for International Friendship Night on Mar 11th suggested that many people thought the answer is “no”. Once again we were in the familiar place, making new friends and catching up with old ones. The Tibetan music and stories were what made that night special, and fried chicken was surely everyone’s favorite. Following the door prize lottery, some of us joined Patrick’s “Guitar 101” while others listened to a friend sharing great experiences. Coincidentally, that day was also Chinese Valentine’s Day. What would be a better way to spend such a day than enjoying friends and guitar music, accompanied by rain? |

On Saturday evening of the past week, I went to the ISI International Friendship Dinner held in Mr. and Mrs. Newman's house and really had a great time there. During this event, I got to know many new friends from different parts of the world (and I also got a great chance to practice my Japanese and French which I'm taking in UVA now). For dinner, we had traditional American dishes and Malaysian desserts. They tasted delicious! After that, we held a short get-together, where I got a special gift and also played the piano for all of us. Then we had a choice between two intriguing discussions. One was about the Bible, and the other was about Valentine's Day. I took the latter one and learned a lot about Valentine's origin as well as the traditions of Valentine around the world. We also played a game of pictionary. I enjoyed myself so much this exceptional evening! See Pictures of this event |
